About the Scholarship Funds
VBNK is pleased to announce that we are able to offer a limited number of scholarships which have been made available through the generous support of:

The purpose of these scholarship funds is to enable staff of NGOs who manage people and/or projetcs to access VBNK training. In particular, the aim is to enable CNGOs who have a proven track record, but as yet no funds for staff training, to send their managers to attend training in management and organisational development.
In addition, VBNK can support organisations that register four full paying participants on an individual course to receive the fifth place on the same course for 50% of the course fee. If the group includes two women, then the fifth place on the same course will be free of charge.

Eligibility / Criteria for Application
In order to be eligible for assistance under the scholarship funds, applicants and their organisations must:
- Meet the criteria for the VBNK course they wish to attend (as detailed on each course outline).
- Meet the following criteria (as detailed on the scholarship fund application form):
- the applicant must currently be involved in supervising staff or in leading a team or in managing finance, or
- the applicant must be in the process of being prepared for a future management role.
- the applicant must explain how attending the course will help them to be more effective in their job.
- Provide the name, address and telephone contact of a referee. VBNK will contact this referee to confirm key information in the application.
- Show that there is a genuine financial need (e.g. no core funding, no funds yet for staff development).
Additional criteria for ANZ funded scholarships:
In particular, applications are encouraged from:
- Women CNGO managers. At least 70% of ANZ scholarships will be awarded to women.
- Participants enrolling in financial management courses.
- Participants working in the area of disabilities.
Additional criteria for AusAID funded scholarships:
- AusAID funded scholarships are only to be awarded to persons with disabilities who work in CNGOs or CBOs.

The following people/organisations are not eligible to receive assistance form the funds:
- CNGOs that have alternative sources for staff development.
- Newly established CNGOs with no experience of or achievements in implementing projects/programmes.
- INGO staff

Award Details / Coverage
Scholarship covers tuition fee for one (1) Open Access course at VBNK.
Individuals who receive a scholarship from VBNK are asked to contribute USD $25.00 towards the course fee.

All applications for a particular course must be submitted at least three weeks before the course start date. Applicants short-listed will go through an assessment process.
