| Participatory Impact Assessment (PIA)
is about understanding the changes, both intended and unintended,
which are brought about in men's, women's and children's
lives as a result of our work. Understanding change is important
not just to donors, or supporters, it is also crucial for
ensuring that our work is constantly improving the lives
of the people who are intended to benefit. We believe that
a robust impact assessment system must tell us about the
things that are most important to the people with whom we
work, tell us whether the work we do is helping or not,
help us know more about other things that affect people's
lives, help us learn about what we are doing and help us
improve our work in the future.
